Day 1 - Arrive in Cairo

Arrive in Cairo, for a three-night stay before joining your main eclipse tour. Cairo, Egypt's sprawling capital along the Nile River, is a vibrant blend of ancient and modern influences. Renowned for the Giza Pyramids and the Sphinx, it reflects a profound Pharaonic legacy. The city’s bustling markets, historic mosques, and contemporary life create a dynamic metropolis that enchants visitors with its timeless charm and energy.

Day 2 - Cairo sightseeing (Giza Pyramids and Sphinx)

Today visit the Giza necropolis, built during the 4th dynasty of the Old Kingdom of ancient Egypt, between 2600 and 2500 BC. The necropolis comprises of the Great Pyramid of Giza, the Pyramid of Khafre, and the Pyramid of Menkaure, along with their associated pyramid complexes and the Great Sphinx of Giza. Perhaps return to the Pyramids again this evening for the optional Sound and Light show excursion.

Day 3 - Cairo Sightseeing (Grand Egyptian Museum)

Today visit the Grand Egyptian Museum (also known as the Giza Museum) which is the largest archaeological museum in the world and host to over 100,000 artifacts from Egypt’s glorious past and main treasures. This new museum is due to open fully in 2025 and contains 7,000 sq./m dedicated to the boy-king Tutankhamun, with the 5,400 objects retrieved from his tomb (discovered by Howard Carter in 1922) displayed together for the first time, including his three coffins and funeral mask.

Day 4 - Join your Main Tour today with optional excursions available

Today is a day at leisure whilst guests joining the main eclipse group tour arrive.  Perhaps take an optional excursion and visit the Bent Pyramid at Dahshur, the Step Pyramid at Saqqara or the sacred of Memphis.
