Day 1 (30th July 2027) - Arrival in Cairo

Arrive in Cairo, for a one-night stay. Cairo, Egypt's sprawling capital along the Nile River, is a vibrant blend of ancient and modern influences. Renowned for the Giza Pyramids and the Sphinx, it reflects a profound Pharaonic legacy. The city’s bustling markets, historic mosques, and contemporary life create a dynamic metropolis that enchants visitors with its timeless charm and energy.

We have the following PRE Tour Extension available for this tour:-

PRE-TOUR CAIRO ANTIQUITIES EXTENSION (starting 27th July 2027) - see the Giza Pyramids, the Sphinx and the Grand Egyptian Museum - details can be found via the link here.

Day 2 (31st July 2027) - Fly to Marsa Alam and stay on the Red Sea

Egypt’s Red Sea coast is fringed with an unbroken 350 mile coral reef inhabited by uncountable numbers and varieties of exotic colourful fish. The southern part of the Egyptian coast is a remote sparsely populated region, frequented by visitors looking for the best diving and snorkeling in the world.  Today fly to Marsa Alam and transfer to Hamata for your Red Sea adventure. Hamata lies around 110km south of Marsa Alam and is a top diving destination with clear waters, sheltered sites, and a variety of marine life, including dolphins and sharks. It lends its name to the region opposite the Fury Shoal Reef system and is the most southerly diving resort in the Egyptian Red Sea. Your four-night stay in Hamata is at the Wadi Lahmy Azur Resort. This is a delightful place where the desert meets the sea, the nearest small town is over 70 miles away and the night skies are clear.  Optional evening stargazing excursion.

Day 3 (1st August 2027) - Day at leisure on the Red Sea coast

A day at leisure to enjoy your stay at the resort, with optional excursions available including diving, snorkelling, boat trips, kite surfing and water sports in general.  Stroll along the endless beach or cool off in the swimming pool. A jetty from the beach leads to the outer edge of the coral reef with the brilliant colour and constant activity of life on the reef. Easy snorkeling or just watch from the surface.  For qualified divers, the Fury Shoal Reef system is a popular trip from the local dive centre (must be booked ahead!) and other sports such as kite-surfing can also be arranged.

Day 4 (2nd August 2027) - Eclipse Day

This quiet, idyllic location is a perfect place from which to observe the solar eclipse.  No hustle, no rush, just step out of your  room, pick up a cocktail from the bar, lay back and watch the Sun and Moon perform their magic dance!  The duration of totality is around 6 mins 15 secs. with the sun almost overhead at 81 degrees.

Day 5 (3rd August 2027) - Day at leisure on the Red Sea coast

A day at leisure with optional excursions available including diving, snorkelling, boat trips, kite surfing and water sports in general.  The area is suitable for divers of all abilities, and some say it's one of the best diving spots in Egypt.

Day 6 (4th August 2027) - Return flight to Cairo for your last night of the tour

A road trip across the desert again this morning, returning to Marsa Alam for the flight back to Cairo for your last overnight stay of the tour. You have the option to extend your stay at the resort if you wish (on request and must be pre-booked).

Day 7 (5th August 2027) - Join your return flight or perhaps extend your stay

Today is the last day of the tour. Join your return flight home. Unless you have chosen to extend your stay.
